      From looking at what are likely similar technologies, the fatal flaw is usually abrasion or surface defects that remove part of the film and result in soil/dirt/whatever being concentrated there. Even if the overall amount of dirt on the surface is less, it looks worse because 90% of the surface is absolutely clean and the other 10% looks more dirty by comparison.

        This does sound interesting. Nanotech is going to undergo a lot of scrutiny
        very soon, though, in regard to waste water. Nano silver is showing up in
        places like clothing and clothes washers because it kills bacteria. That nano
        silver also gets washed into the waste stream and eventually gets into the
        water ways where it can indiscriminately kill beneficial bacteria.

        It will be very interesting to see where all this goes.
