While watching the 'departed list' on the Grammys tonight, his name came up. Bummer.
I don't know how many of you will be familiar with him, but I first saw him about 40 years ago as the opening act for George Carlin at Radio City Music Hall.
I had gone to see Carlin, and was quite annoyed to see he had a singer as an opening act, but loved Carlin so much that I was willing to 'put up' with it.
It took about 5 seconds into his first song to make me wish that he was the main act! IMHO, if anyone was ever given a gift, it was him. He had the voice of an angel.
RIP, Kenny, you brought a gift to the world that will not easily be replaced.
Here's a link to one of his songs on youtube. I think he's about 60 here, but unlike many, it doesn't seem as if he's lost a step since I first saw him 40 years ago. There are many more songs there also:
