    After the rain

It rained for six days straight - a rare experience here. On the seventh day this was the view from my office window.

The high country, about 50 miles away, is the Topa Topa Range, capped with 4' -5' of snow.

That is a pretty sight! I am having spring fever already. I hate winter! Everything here is brown and mud after the last snow melted. It is so muddy that many of our country roads are closed. I don't ever remember that happening here as all country roads have been rocked for years and are maintained well. Snow is forecast again for this week. Enjoy your sunshine.

Looks pretty dry now. Snow capped mountains...not in my neighborhood.

9TH day of rain here in Sacramento, one more storm to go and then some clear dry weather for a few days. Plenty of snow in the Sierra's for the Skiers and Snowboarders. Which means plenty water in the lakes for fishermen and Water Skiers this summer

On a normal day you can see almost to the red car, right?

The first time I traveled to LA for work I came in on a Tuesday and went the whole week without knowing there were mountains "visible" from the hotel. When the weekend rolled around they were clearly visible in the distance (not sure if it was from less traffic, or a weather change).

We got about two inches of wet snow during the day and forecast calls for 6-10 inches tonight. A little inconvenient getting around, but at least I'll be able to shower this summer.

Unfortunately, my skis are still in the Bay Area.

              Snappy comeback to follow!! Soon...

Actually, I live far enough out of LA that the air is fine. However, we are subject to the coastal influence that keeps us fogged in on summer days until noon. "Night and morning low cloudiness, burning off by afternoon. Highs in the 70s." The weather man can mail it in about 300 days a year.

              Doh!

I've probably metioned it before, but here goes. On a vacation to Tahoe once I spent half the week riding bikes in 70 degree sun. Then it dropped 4' overnight and I had to use all the powder tricks (except snorkel!).
