    Check Out These Pocket Doors

How about a 1954 Kaiser Darrin, with pocket doors.

      Holy Moly Cabman,

You mean that this country turned out something so nifty way back then.
All I remember was that Nash Rambler? that Jimmy Olsen (or was it Lois Lane?) drove in the TV series, Superman.

BTW, I still think you have too much free time on your hands.

If that's as far down as that top will go it will surely blow off at speeds in excess of 160 Mph. Nice looking car but that front grill is butt ugly.

An interesting tidbit of history with Kaiser-Frazer, is that they produced in 1952-53 a car called the Allstate, which was sold through Sears Roebuck stores.

When I was a kid my brother had a 53 Willys built by Kaiser-Willys Motors. It looked a lot like the Allstate. The most distinctive thing I remember about it is the front wheels kept falling off of it. Well more than just the wheel, something kept breaking and that whole corner of the running gear left the car. In later years he got a TR6. He said the experience with the Willys helped him prepare for driving the TR6.

Bruce, when I was 5 or so, my parents had a Nash Rambler. I remember my dad bringing my first two-wheeler home in it. It was red with a Hulk sticker on the fender. The bike, not the car. The car was green. One of their foster kids stole it and rolled it. The car, not my bike.

When I was a kid, and I can't remember even how old I was, there was a neighbor who had a Nash Rambler. I mean I think he was a neighbor. He didn't live on our street. He probably lived a couple of blocks away, so that's why I called him a neighbor.

Anyway, I would see that same car go by our house several times a day. I never kept count but it was a lot. I remember at first the car was green. It could have been the same green as crokett's, maybe not. Then after a few months (I'm just guessing), it was white. Now that I think about it, it could have been wrecked and repainted, or just repainted, or maybe it was a different car. I just don't know.

Reminds me of several cars from the back and side. Bit of Corvette, Thunderbird, and Karma Ghia all rolled into one. Yet the front, makes me think Studebaker.

                              These are some beautiful cars!
I had a 1960 Rambler that got hit in the rear while parked on a corner where I was working in Brooklyn, the guy was probably doing 40 at the time, so the car folded up into an inverted 'v'.
Back then , you had to wait until the insurance guy could come look at it, which sometimes took weeks, so I had to have it towed about 12 miles to sit in front of my house and wait for them to come. Meanwhile, I removed the wheels to save for a new Rambler I was going to buy, so I had the car up on milk boxes.
Imagine my surprise when I left the house one morning and found the milk boxes missing, the car still there, untouched. I guess the thieves knew where the value was:-(
