    Updated Lyrics

Since Ms Andrews lost her singing voice several years ago, partly due to botched surgery, the story obviously is false...but I loved the lyrics....

To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan 's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favourite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:

Even better if you sing it!

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Cadillac's and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favourite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
    When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinning,
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,
    When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.
    Don, aka Pappy,

Wise men talk because they have something to say,
Fools because they have to say something.

    Great lyrics!

Several years ago when I had the flu I wrote these lyrics to I Feel Pretty:

    I feel chitty
    O so chitty
It ain't pretty how chitty I feel
Oh so chitty, I wish I wan't real

See that sickly man in that mirror there
    What mirror where?
Who can that sickly man be?
    See those bloodshot eyes
    See that runny nose
    Such a chitty me!

There were a couple more verses but I don't remember them any more.
    David

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

      Funny!

Actually, she can sing again. The quality of her voice is approximately equal that of your average American Idol winner. Unfortunatley, she no longer sings with that bell-like quality that we all remember.
