    JR,
That is a great reminder. My one daughter that I wrote about earlier finally was hired last week. Unfortunately my older daughter lost her job this morning. I sent a link to that web site to her. Thanks.

The COBRA premium subsidy is one of the best (and few effective) methods our Government is helping us normal schlubs out.

Strangly enough my MIL who recently became unemployed is now paying less for her much necessary health insurance premium than she was before losing her job.

Very sorry to hear it, Omar. I can sympathize, back in 2006, I was walked out the door with no notice from a company I had worked for for 6 years (and barely a year after being "employee of the months. Not for any sort of misconduct, just that they had no client to bill me to any longer.

On the positive side, it was a very liberating experience that I wish I'd had much earlier in life (I was 46 at the time), as I learned it wasn't the end of the world. It taught me what was truly important in life, and it wasn't work.

Should someone E-Mail/PM Omar to let him know about the Cobra subsidy? How often does he check this site?

My son-in-law was laid off last week from a job he'd had for 3 years. Yesterday he interviewed for a part-time consulting job.

Today he got the job. The kicker is that he'll be paid more for two days work than he made at his old job in a week.
