I took my daughters to a brand new McDonalds for lunch the other day( had coupons). They had the most interesting counter tops and first thing I thought of was how nice a pen it would make!

I think it was some kind of corian. It was black and all sparkly. Do you think they would notice if I walked in with a jig saw?

You can get all kinds of corian pen blanks on Ebay, cheap, and you can also get scraps from remodel contractors, usually for free.

Try some local cabinet shops that do kitchen work. Sizable scrap might be found around their dumpsters, but I would ask permission before going on the hunt.

I've heard that fast food stores have one special chemical that they use to make everything -- the same ingredient is used for the burgers, the cheese, the shakes, the cardboard boxes, and probably the counter tops!

If true, you could probably make a pen out of an old french fry.

I've seen pens crafted from all kinds of things, both savory and otherwise. You can imagine just about anything that is first cast in clear acrylic...
