People are dying to see it!

Finally, straight outta Wisconsin, "Ed Gein: The Musical"!

    The Associated Press | Posted: Tuesday, January 5, 2010 8:00 am | (9) Comments

MENASHA, Wis. - An Appleton company is finished making the movie, ``Ed Gein: The Musical'' and it will soon be in Wisconsin theaters.

Gein is the murderer and 1950s Plainfield grave robber whose story inspired the movie "Psycho.'' The feature-length movie is directed by Steve Russell and stars Dan Davies as the title character.

The musical/comedy made its big-screen debut Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley Communication Arts Center in Menasha. It plays off several popular songs, as Elvis Presley's ``All Shook Up'' became ``All Cooked Up'' and ``The Sound of Music's'' ``My Favorite Things'' turned into ``My Demented Things.''

Assistant director Jason Buss hopes the word-of-mouth from the debut will propel the film forward.

The filmmakers expect it to be in theaters across the state soon, followed by a DVD release.

No comment except that I have a SIL who lives in Appleton. I don't think she would be interested in seeing this movie though.

A musical yet? Ought to be as good as Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Or worse than Saw.

When I was kid in the 50's, Ed Gein Jokes were the rage.

I'll start off with "What did the sheriff find in Ed's sewing basket?

            Belly buttons.

Any other ancient Cheesehead's or Minnesotan's care to contribute?

(No fair recycling Jeff Dahmer jokes!)
You might think I haven't contributed much to the world, but a large number
of the warning labels on tools can be traced back to things I've done...

Why not. Sweeney Todd was a hit.
