    Snow in north Texas

While I can't vouch for the entire 33 years I've lived here, and can say for the past 25 or so, I don't remember seeing a white Christmas, but it looks like we may get one this year. Its been snowing since about 10 and we are predicted to get 2 inches give or take. I sure am grateful for global warming or I might be under 2 feet of snow by now.....

I think there has been one in that time. I'm sure there was at least one clear christmas, everything covered in ice.

I usually hate the snow and ice, but it was welcomed today. We were supposed to be driving to Anson to visit my in-laws this afternoon. It got postponed.

I wouldn't mind if the roads were bad tomorrow too.

It's been a while since we had this much snow here. They closed I44 and 287 north yesterday due to wrecks. I have only been out to walk the dog and check the back shop, getting cabin fever pretty bad.

Best to stay inside. Its the nuts with 4WD vehicles who think they can drive at 70 on a slick road that you have to watch out for. At least that's how it is up here.

It's the same or worse here, no experience on this type of surface conditions, lots of oversize vehicles. We walked around the neighborhood taking some cakes LOML made to some of our single neighbors. A younger guy had high centered his car half on the road and half in the ditch. He was still spinning the wheels in the air when we passed (big sigh).

Mele Kaliki Maka!!! We are having great weather 72 to 80 degree days and chilly 62 to 69 evenings got a little bit of snow on Mauna Kea. Golfed yesterday and will be golfing this Saturday. Take a vacation and visit our islands and enjoy the sun, surf and great golf courses. For you hunters, it's bird hunting season now, we have many types of francolins, quails, chukkars, turkeys and several types of pheasants. Like many states, we need a boost to help our economy. Anyway, Merry Christmas (Mele Kaliki Maka) and Happy New Year!

It was about 40 degrees and raining when we drove home last night around 9:00. I don't think we have had an actual white Christmas in awhile, but 40 degrees is nuts on Christmas day around here.

Hope the weather breaks and the roads are clear next week. I have to make another run to Wichita Falls on the 3rd or 4th for a couple of days.

Snow around here is the Ice Age. I've learned just to stay home and not go anywhere. The roads were actually better with more snow in NY. there they had the equipment and experience to deal with it.

It was 50 and raining here on Christmas Day. Not all that unusual. Was pushing 60 today but this week it will go back down to mid 40s.

                        Don,
It's clearing today but supposed to snow tomorrow. Give me a buzz if you need an update before you try to come up. Check the local paper for the blame game regarding all the folks stranded on the highway last week.

I have been watching weather.com. The first half of next week loks to be clear and cold with lows in the low 20's and highs in the 40's.
