          Happened to have a story on my home page yesterday about that and how it got started. In 1955 the Colorado Springs Gazette published a number for kids to call and talk to Santa. The number was misprinted and a Colonel at NORAD (actually it's predessessor) answered a call. Not wanting to disappoint the boy, he gave out with a "Ho, Ho, Ho" and said he was Santa. The tracking idea came out of discussions about the incident and has been going strong since.

          BTW, with the technology available, you would think the site could be a little better done!
