              I think that was the Count Basie Band also. 3 of the greats and Johnny was great at what he did. Leno and O'Brien are still trying to catch up. Had been to Reno and Vegas many time to see them.

                  I wasn't alive for most of them, unfortunately, but the old entertainers had talent in many areas; Unlike today where everything is so specialized.

                  Plus he was from Iowa so that make's him even more special

                      I have also heard mention that Carson was also an excellent amateur drummer.
