Only 2" right now but anything over about 6" here is the ice age. Just as a point of reference, they closed schools early today, even before it started snowing.David

No snow in the forcast except a dusting of about an inch or so. Guess it's because the temps are around 15 below( that's around 7 south of here). From the "deep south" part of Canada

We had a snowfall of around 200mm (8") on Thursday night, which may be small beer to most parts of North America, but seems to have brought the South-East of England pretty much to a standstill (again!), in spite of several days' notice. Here's my immediate surroundings (click to enlarge):

We have 8" on the ground in Richmond, VA before it all changed to rain. Compacting the 8 inches. It is all suppose to change back to snow to add 4"-6" more. This will shut Richmond own till Christmas. I'm glad I got my Christmas shopping done!Michael

I just measured it at 16" in a couple of undisturbed areas of my front lawn. I checked it in several places to rule out drifts. We live a mile or two west of the DC Beltway. It's supposed to snow for another 3-8 hours according to weather.com.
I'm glad we bought that snowblower several years ago, especially considering the size of our driveway. We barely used it the past couple of years, but it definitely earned its place in the shed this season. 6" on 12/5 and 16" so far today.Jeff

How to know you've truly arrived in the South
When leaving the North for good and driving South, tie a snow shovel to the front grill.
When you reach a rest stop where someone asks "what's that tied on your grill",
you'll know that you have ARRIVED !!!Comment
