How is the snow this morning? Dug out yet. More on the way. My back yard is soggy but I have a good drainage system so I will be ok. Daughter in law in Boise sent picture, snowing there. I take the rain thank you. But it will be beautiful up there when the weather clears.

It's pretty deep and this batch was more typical Sierra cement. I'm off to the airport in a few minutes to see how the tail stand fared and clear the accumulation there.

Very happy that I can work from home.

Hear a small plane crash landed at Truckee Airport yesterday afternoon. The pilot and passenge got out ok, minor injuries. Why do people try and fly in that kind of weather? Flew with a friend to Tahoe and back on a hot summer day, no fun taking off at Tahoe and a hot day, thankfully he knew the safe way to do it.

Your note was the first I'd heard. There are a couple of small news articles on the web and based on the limited information they contained, I'm speculating the pilot was trying to land in conditions that were below the legal minimums for cloud height and visibility. The National Weather Service reports for Truckee yesterday afternoon show freezing fog. It was snowing here in Tahoe City last night and at Blue Canyon.

I cannot imagine what the pilot was thinking. Of course, accidents like this scare the airport neighbors to death and provide plenty of ammunition for the airport haters.
