Of course I'm a few seasons late, but I have become an Office fanatic. I hope to watch the entire series to date by February. (It helps that it is an instant download on Netflix.)
I can't believe how well-written and well-acted it is. It is IMO one of the best comedy shows of the last decade. This is probably because the characters are so well-written and so believable.
Like all great comedy, it also presents ideas on ego, political correctness, relationships, etc. In that sense I think it's superior to Seinfield, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and other shows that take an idea and caricature it do death. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
And, in certain situations, I get a little teary-eyed. Like when Pam just can't express her affection for Jim and vice versa.
Pathetic isn't it, a middle-aged guy watching TV on the computer, laughing and crying at the same time...
