[RANT ON]
So I ordered this directly from Acronis. Put the disc in th CD drive, ran Startup. Immediately checks for a new version, and of course there is one. OK. I want the latest. No problem.
Then, to download the latest new version I have to enter the:
64 character serial code.
64 CHARACTERS!!!!!!!
OMG!!!! It includes numbers and letters, in 4 character groupings. That's
1.05 x 10 to the 65th power combinations.
Now, I am fairly certain that there are not that many people living on this planet. And I am fairly certain there have never been that many living humans on this planet in its entire existence!!! So, unless Acronis is selling their product to species on some planets of which I am aware,
why in Heaven's name do they need that level of security?!?
Make ONE mistake in entering that gobbledygook and you FAIL!
Luckily, with LOML reading this code to me (lousy typist that I am), character by character, including the required dashes between each group of 4, I entered it successfully.
Can any computer geek security expert 'splain this to me?!?!?
[RANT OFF]
BTW, this is stunning software.
