    question about wiring a motor

    Hi.

I have a question about wiring a motor that seems to be from a dishwasher. I had others in the past with just the power cord; but this one is giving me a headache.

I’m trying to make it run so I can build a polisher with it but the little thing does not want to move at all and it could be I’m wasting my time with nonsense. Probable all those wires go to a missing switch first.

    Maybe you can help me.

I have tried all the wires and so far no luck.

It has white, black, red and blue. The motor # is 5KH22EJ074As. I tried first the white wire with each one of the other colors and nothing, then each color with another...nothing.????...Thanks

Get a wiring diagram for the machine it came from. That should give you the info you need.

Well, if I can’t make it work without spending $$$, I will probable send it to the trash can. This is one of those projects where you expect to just invest with your time and resources that you already have, otherwise is not worth any spending.

        Thanks Daryl.

            I tried, but I can’t find it.
Some yrs ago when I saw somebody trashed a dryer or a dishwasher, etc, I will stop my car (a truck then) and dissemble the motor and keep it for “one day I could need it”.
This is the ‘last of the Mohicans’ among those, and now I can’t do much to find out.

A capacitor sometimes is hard to find. I need one for a 4 x 36 belt-sander some yrs ago I bought from HF and now I can’t find it as well.

I contacted one manufacturer from China and he responded me back saying that I had to buy at least 500 capacitors first. HF has a similar motor for around 40 dollars. I’m giving some time to that one, because in reality it has worked pretty well and I do not want to trash it.

A new one similar they sell for $70 more or less.

              Thanks for the info.

Mcmaster-carr sells caps, you just need the size.

any motor rewind shop will have run caps as well as appliance repair stores, it should be between $10 and 20.
