My Japanese hand writing is soooo much better than my English handwriting. I never was taught the cursive form of Kanji and that is good!
Long continuous words are difficult to write but short strokes are easier. For this reason, Kanji is easier than cursive English. I did take a class in college - Engineering Drawing 101 or something similar. In the last 10 years I have reverted to using script type of printing - kind of a hybrid of the Engineering drawing class and script - instead of cursive.
It also doesn't help that 1. the end of my right thumb is much shorter than normal
2. that the thumb/hand joint is 1/3 larger than the left hand from arthritis and 3. that my mom's inherited hand tremors is becoming predominant in my right hand when I grip things.

My handwriting with my left hand is terrible. Unfortunately, I'm left handed :-(.You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.Comment

Legible, most of the time. I am a southpaw and was lucky enough to have a left handed teacher so I was taught to hold a pen/pencil normally and not write with the 'hook' prevalent in lefties.
Like several others, I took a lot of drafting classes and worked as a structural draftsman for a while. Now I print most everything.Don, aka Pappy,
