Interference engines?

I once knew of a site where you could determine whether your engineer was of the interference type (timing belt break leads to catastrophic damage). But I can't find it.

Car in question is 2000 Dodge Caravan 2.4L 4-cylinder.

Any ideas?

Also, anyone ever had a timing belt replaced in one of these? What did the outfit that did the work charge?

My mechanic charged me ~285.00 to replace the timing belt and water pump in a 2002 Plymouth Grand Voyager. A lot of that was the cost of the water pump. If you are going to get the timing belt done, labor is the same for the water pump since the belt has to come off anyway. Something to consider.

The site listed above has at least one error on it so I wouldn't trust it.

Your van has an interference type engine. Even if it didn't I wouldn't put off replacing a timing belt. They break at the most inopportune times.
