    Biggest vehicle you've driven?

I drove 18 wheeler 40 ton 5 axel tractor trailers for 23 years. I drove them all over 18 states (southeast, south, and mid-Atlantic states for approximately a total of 2 &1/2 million miles and only involved in one accident, not my fault and no one injured! Then I got tired of it....and hung it up about 13 years ago for the last time. Sometimes I miss it (the road), looking back, not worth the things I had to give up and miss out on....they can't be replaced.

My ex BIL had a double cab 18 wheeler with a 45' trailer. Did a round trip from Miami to Mobile to Miami. I drove back...what a blast. When he drove me home he used his wifes Toyota and I thought my butt would scrape on the road. I also drove my buddies Volvo double cab semi with a 53' trailer.

Not anywhere near the cool factor of you other guys—my biggest vehicle was a 66-passenger school bus converted into a tour bus by the theatre company I worked for. Four-on-the-floor, rattles and leaks, NO radio just me, a ton of scenery, and the open road at 3am.

Pete 379 435 cummins, super 10 pulling a 40 and 1/4. that's a 40 foot semi and a 25' pup for those of you not aware of the lingo. I also once drove a truck and trailer that scaled at 111,300 #'s and that was on five axles.

Most interesting thinkg I have ever driven was one of these and one of these.

I have operated diesel machinery such as the Cat 385C Excavator (187,000 lbs), Cat D11 Dozer (248,000 lbs), Cat 637 Scraper (~200,000 lbs loaded). I have also run just about every Cat wheel loader there is up to the big brute 994. I have also hauled a lot of the same machinery so you could add the 50,000 lbs of the tractor and trailer to most of those, sort of. Most really large machines have to be broken down to be hauled. Take off the blade, or bucket, or cab, stick, basically anything that can be taken off.

The 385 was probably the most memorable. We had it on a deep sewer job and were laying sanitary sewer almost 40 feet deep without benching the machine down.

Its been so long that I forget the brand name, but they were mining trucks. The small ones had about a 250 ton payload, and the large ones were closer to 400 tons. This was at Fording Coal in B.C. And was too close to 40 years ago.

We have been driving a 26 ft Motor home with a Ford Escape attached via a dolly on the back all summer. About 48 ft total. Interesting to drive something that you can NOT back up!!

Then the 24' truck has a different engine than the 22' one cause through the mountains I had the truck floored and the best I could do was 55 up the grades.

About 4 years ago, I did about 10,000 miles in 3 separate Penske trucks (26') moving my MIL, my brother's family, and my family (that was a tough year). I highly recommend Penske, their trucks tend to be relativley new and better maintained than others that I've seen.

US Army 10 ton wrecker. Also learned to drive the Tank Retriever my unit at Ft Lewis had. Can't remember the Make, Model of the monster but it was a kick. I wasn't formally trained to drive it but my best friend taught me on the sly. Was trained to drive the Wrecker. Later when I returned from training I transfered back to my home town and ended up in Infantry Training Brigade as a cook, go figure. 91st Division US Army Reserve.

Umm... would a Ohio-class Trident nuclear submarine count? About 560 feet long, 42 feet wide displacing 18,400+ tons and, um... let's just say, significant horsepower.
