    New to the forum.

    Hi everyone,

My name is Kirk. I'm a new member, and very happy to have found BT3Central!

I have about 7 years as a hobbyist woodworker under my belt, but have been away from it for about 2 years now. I'd spent some time learning the craft, thoroughly enjoying it, building some really nice pieces and a few that only I appreciated. Over the years I acquired what I thought was a pretty nice shop. But circumstances led me to have to sell it all. I managed to hang on to a few hand sanders, a set of chisels, a power saw, and for some reason a lonely miter gauge. I'm just now able to try and get back into it.

I purchased the first piece of what I hope will be another pretty nice shop, a used BT3000. I have a question about setting the rails that I'll ask in the appropriate thread, but I wanted to say hi and introduce myself first.

Yes, to get the FAQ, send a PM here to "LCHIEN" (that's Loring) with your e-mail addy. This FAQ has developed over many years and many iterations of the BT saws. It's more useful information about servicing, upgrading and repairing the BT saws than you will find anywhere else.

Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! -Rocky Balboa-
