    Baby thoughts

Did you ever wonder what a baby thinks when they're told they can't have something? One of our grand daughters is 8 months old. I was holding her today, and as always, she was trying to grab my glasses. I just kept raising my head up when she'd try to grab them. I kept saying "No, you can't have my glasses". It wasn't long before I found out what she was thinking. Her thoughts went something like this: "OK, then I'll just rip your neck off".

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

I've got a ten month old who likes grabbing for my glasses. He loves to pull the pen out of my shirt pocket and wave it around, heedless of the risk of poking himself or me in the eye. It's interesting, though, once I tell him 'no' a couple of times, he'll stop grabbing for the glasses.

Have you noticed the look when they are waving the joyfully acquired pen, glasses or anything else and they poke themselves in the face. They look at you as if you are the guilty party. I'm always caught between pitty for their fright and laughing at the look. Laughing usually wins but only while tenderly hugging them. Grandkid number 5 on the way on T.giving Day so the fun continues!
      Blessings,

I've wondered what goes through their "minds" from birth on for 35 years! Wish I could mind read (would make my job a bit simpler, too).
