I was at my parent's tonight and mentioned how my almost-two-year-old loves to have one book (baby dolphin) read to him over and over and over. They reminded me of a book I had read to me over and over as a kid (The Marvelous Mud Washing Machine). This isn't fine literature, but it made me feel nostalgic.
When I came home I hopped online and figured I'd buy a copy to read to the little guy. I was shocked to see auction prices of $50-100+ for the out-of-print kiddie book. Apparently it was well loved by other folks too.
Other than the "usual suspects" of Dr. Seuss, Caldacott winners, and the like what were your kids' (or your) favorite pre-kindergarten books?
