I have about 50-60 old slides I need to scan. Can anyone recommend a good and reasonably priced slide scanning service?

Advice on scanning slides?

Ah-HA! I found the ONE question that nobody here can answer!
Here's just an update in case others search and find this thread. More slides came along -- about 250 total. I found and priced out several services, including several from the list below. But in the end I ended up just buying an inexpensive, but highly rated slide/film scanner. This way I don't have to send the slides anywhere, and I can scan any more that come along -- even at a higher optical resolution than many of the services, if that's what I want to do.
I bought a Canon CanoScan 8800F for about $160. That should do the trick.
Here are some of the services I found:

I was going to suggest a slide scanner (I have a NIkon) until you mentioned you only needed to do a small number; I didn't think it'd be worth it for that; I hope the Canon works out for you. If you're into photography projects, there are also DIY ways to copy using a digital camera with slide holder and macro lens. You can see one setup HERE.. See also this page.
Edit: Link fixed, I hope.Last edited by Norm in Fujino; 10-10-2009, 10:52 PM.==========

That camera idea is interesting, but it seems like overkill for me. The first link didn't work for my, btw.online at http://www.theFrankes.com

I purchased about a week ago an Epson V500 for scanning slides as well as old negatives. It is a slow process, four at a time, but as I learn more about the proper operation of the scanner, I think that I am going to be pleased with the Epson.SOW YOUR WILD OATS ON SATURDAY NIGHT - - - THEN ON SUNDAY PRAY FOR CROP FAILURE!Comment

It looked like a toss-up to me. I chose the Canon because I've had a lot of success with other Canon products and because it had more reviews on newegg and Amazon -- I figured maybe it was more popular.
But we'll see... I expect we'll both be happy with the results.online at http://www.theFrankes.com

For some reason, I didn't see the original post. Sorry about that. I expect you'll be happy with the results you'll get with either of the scanners mentioned.
