I don't even have to view the video to say "DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME". Black powder is a low explosive and extremly unstable.

It doesn't look quite right to me. Fake and/or edited. How many seconds would it normally take that fuse to burn? 1 or 2? He lights the fuse, then the next frame is the explosion and he is already leaning back against the curtains. There isn't any apparent time for the fuse to burn.

There are slow and fast fuses.

not enough smoke either. burning 10 gr. of FFFg in my shop tends to leave a visable cloud. That is about the charge I use in my .31 cal derringer for wasp control, along with a small paper wad.

Definitely faked. Watch again. Before explosion, black t-shirt with logo. Afterward, black t-shirt with NO logo.

That's the real deal. Having played with black powder I can say that with certainity. The logo on his shirt disapeared when he struck the match, probably to do with the auto exposure on the camera.

I like the background music. I wonder if this guy is related to the kid with the banjo?

                    I agree on the autoexposure.

Hehe, reminds me of some of the stupid stuff I did in Boy Scouts.

I'm not saying the explosion is fake - I don't have enough technical knowledge to say that. I think the explosion is real. I am saying it exploding in his face is fake. Just prior to the explosion the lights are off. During/after the lights are on. Plus his shirt is different. Prior to the explosion the shirt is faded black with logo. After the explosion the shirt is much blacker with no logo. Even allowing for auto-exposure, before the explosion the logo is visible. After there is no logo. The camera should have adjusted back and the logo should be visible again.

There was black sooty dust all over the logo. It was filthy. Probably had to wash it out with Oxi-Clean. Tremors from the explosion turned on the light. See boys and girls how a little video can be so simple.

Maybe the logo was blown off…

I had considered that, but it appears to be one of those types where the logo is thicker than the t-shirt - so I'd expect some holes in that shirt! Or - OR - maybe there is a hole, and his skin is now burnt to a crisp!

Faked. There are several problems, but mostly, the lack of any smoke after the explosion is the real tell.
