    our first anniversary motorcycle ride....

last year on our 10th anniversary, my wife let me buy my VTX. since then, my wife hasnt gone out with me on the bike, so today we went to dinner for our 11th anniversary on my bike. this was her first real ride. we took the freeway for 98% of the way.

we had dinner at a restaurant called "persian room". the food was great. for those of you who live in phx, man you have to try their food. they are located at scottsdale rd and the 101. beautiful two level restaurant and the people there are great!

she really loved the ride! the ultimate seats and the car tire really made it comfortable for her. man, the bike handles really nice with two people. i mean, on the curves and turns, it felt even more stable. i actually felt like i was leaning a lot more in my turns.

so she has promised me that i can take her out again on a longer ride that i want to go with her. i want to take her to flagstaff by taking route 89 through yarnel, jerome, to sedona to flag from phoenix (for those who know AZ)

i guess its time for me to get her some riding gear!

Very cool Omar. Glad she enjoys it. Make sure to stop off at the Grill by the Harley Davidson dealership in Flagstaff. And don't wait until winter.

+1 on that advice - best burger I've EVER had was in there!

Omar - that sounds like a very cool anniversary. Riding gear makes it more pleasurable. I took LOML on the bike I had at the time (KZ 1000), and she was petrified. She would prefer to have a sissy bar.

It is great when the wife enjoys riding with you. With the 650 Yamaha Special I had in the late 80's and the 1400 Suzuki Cavalcade I rode last, Ginger rode with me a lot. By the time I got back on a bike last year after an 8 year 'break', her medical problems have gotten to the point that she can't ride anymore. Now I go kidnap my 13 year old granddaughter occassionally for an ice cream run! She got her own helmet for Christmas last year and I have matching leather jackets for us. Thinking about getting her a white vest...

sorry to hear that pappy about your wife. it definately feels great to her ride with me.

funny thing was i didnt want to go up to north phx to look for a helmet for my daughter, and asked around the local shops if there was a helment place around here and no one ever hinted of a place that was like 8 miles from my home. so i just went there yesterday morning, and found out they are closed 3 days out the week and only open from 10am to 6pm! so i am looking forward to taking my daugther there on tuesday after work for helmet and stuff...
