It's been a while since I bothered you all with "the other hobby" so now it's time to do so!

Guess I got cocky over my success and took the Hawk (remember the picture of Saphira) to the filed last night and plowed the field with it! The destruction was total! Oyh well, win some, loose some.

Glad to hear you are still flying. I've been wondering what happened to your other hobby. Too bad about the Hawk. Are you going to take before/after pics during the rebuild?

Great video. It looks like a full sized one when in the air. Sure is noisy.

Alas, the Hawk will not be rebuilt this time. I tore it down last night and the damage was too extensive. I'd have to buy a new kit. So, I'm salvaging what parts I can to sell and will go on with the other models until I get another, larger one.

Thanks for the comments! C-man, I don't know why it sounded like that in the video, it really isn't that loud. In fact, while making that approach, I could hear the blades beating the air into submission!

That's the sound (beating) and seeing it in the air that makes it look so real. I heard the beating, which got somewhat drowned out by the buzzing. Is it difficult to learn to control the flight?

Yes, the helicopters have a much steeper learning curve than planes, but I learned so........ Actually, today with the high quality of the radio gear, the helicopter kits and the simulators it's easier than it was not all that many years ago. Twenty years ago, if you could hover and land again in one piece you were an accomplished pilot. Today if you can't hover INVERTED 3" off the ground, you are just a so-so pilot. I'm just a so-so pilot, but I am working on the inverted stuff on the sim.
