Is this Legal???

Over 21, riders are not required to wear a helmet with proof of successful completion of rider training or $10,000 of medical insurance covering injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. The second part is to keep the public from picking up the tab for 'individual stupidity'. (My opinion of riders without helments.)

Florida has the same insurance requirements. Whether the rider actually carries the insurance is questionable.

Here is a picture from my bike club collection. This bike was a Honda 750F. Three of us were riding on a back road pretty fast and this bike and rider was in the middle of 3-in-a row. He developed a shimmy, and went down and slid along the highway. Fortunately I missed hitting him or the bike. He was wearing a leather jacket, boots and a helmet.

His helmet got ground down - almost through. His wallet in his back pocket got ground down wafer thin...which saved his butt. He wouldn't be here today if he wasn't wearing his helmet.
