Not knowing better, I tried it once when I ordered a burrito at a small mexican restaurant. The beer label said Bud Clamato, or something like that. And the bigger can at that (LOML & I were going to share it). And I've been known to try out new beers from time to time.

First shock was when it came out red.
Then the taste was what could be expected from clam beer, then only did I read the ingredient list, and found the clams.

First time, and last time. For clam beer. But I survived, and I'll continue trying new things. Maybe just check the ingredients first,... or not. More adventurous that way.

Bud light with spicy Clamato (mixed at home of course) is a good balanced meal for me.

Yeah, I think the folks at Bud are a bit mistaken about what a "Chelada" is (I always thought the Corona/lime/salt combo to be a chelada), but Clamato and beer is not that strange (to some). My dad has always enjoyed "red beers" (tomato juice/beer) on hot summer evenings, and I'm pretty sure he sometimes substituted Clamato juice. I've mixed v8/beer a few times....

That said, I don't like Bud, don't especially like tomato juice, and only like clams steamed with butter...so I won't be trying this Budweiser abomination.

How about a European version? Heineken with shrimp boil?? Chimay with Belgian mussel soup?

I like beer and have been drinking it for about fifty years. I love the way a good cold beer tastes but if i have to put clam pi** or lime in it then why drink beer.

I could never bring that bacon soap into the house, the kids would spend way too much time in the bath-room... they are 4 and 2, and I am sure a call to the pediatrician would ensue to the tune of:

so, is injesting soap bad for my kids?

followed by an exhasperated sigh from the MD, followed by a well how much did they eat...

I am not able to gag down any kind of tomao juice and the chelada beer is the same as drinking clamato juice and beer. Too much tomato.
