I don't remember if I've shared this before but it's a great online magazine about carpentry. It's target is professional finish carpenters and us home "pros" can learn a lot from it.

The format works well, it's closer to a book than a magazine, this issue is 179 pages, so it goes into depth were a print magazine usually only skims.

It's FREE and they don't send you any junk when you subscribe. I've met Gary Katz and he seems to be a very stand up guy and has a passion for the craft.

It's a great magazine. I like the way it's done. I posted this magazine a couple of months ago:

Kind of hard to read in the bathroom, err reading room that is....

It's an interesting on line magazine, as said, the depth of information in the articles actually makes it possible to learn something from them.

I saw a copy of this in the barbershop a few months back, the guy had printed out about 60 or so pages and was reading it while waiting, said he couldn't read things like that off of the computer so he had his wife print it for him. Understandable but sort of defeats the paperless magazine idea. I think that when they get a Kindle like reader that you can upload PDFs to with full color graphics and leave the thing in the car without it melting I'll be in the market and magazines like this will really take off. In the meantime TIC is getting a good head start.

Maybe its time I start looking at the electronic options of reading such stuff on the move. The iPhone looks neat, but I don't think I can afford it, unless it has dropped in price recently.

Well, the iPod touch is basically an iPhone without the phone, and a refurb starts at $150. Netbooks work well for this sort of thing too, although one in tablet form (which I have never seen) would be better as a reader.

Refurbed iPhones are listed on the AT&T site for $50 for the 3G model. No refurbed 3GS that I've seen yet.
