It's all about the size of it

Here's something else I don't understand. I'm downloading the update for iTunes. In the upper box, it lists the size of the file as 101.42MB. Below that, it says "Downloading (0.20MB/10.9MB)". Exactly what does that mean? Does that mean the file to download is 10.9MB, and 0.20MB has been downloaded so far? And the 101.42MB is what the program will be after it is installed??

My guess is that you've queued up two applications that add up to 101MB. You're currently on the first one, which is 10.9MB, and you're 0.2MB into that one. At the end of that one, the progress bar might reset as you download the second.

That's just a guess...

Of course, I installed TurboTax once and got a progress bar that (eventually) appeared to be about 75% filled in, but said very clearly "150% complete..." -- and it was still counting up. And I thought, "I'm going to trust my taxes to this software?!?" So it could just be a mistake or a glitch in the Matrix, too.

(BTW, I think your guess is also a good one.)

iTunes seems to download in chunks for some reason. The 101.42 is the total size of the download for both programs. 0.20 MB is total of the chunk being downloaded of the 10.90 MB. The progress bar is for the total.
