    You Ate What?

LOML were both off today so while roaming around( no, I didn't see Ed in my travels) we decided to treat ourselves in one of our favorite places for lunch. LOML had a wonderful tasting Reuben and I ordered the Kate and Sydney. It was great but just what did I eat?

I like a good Reuben, but I have no idea what you ate.

I've seen that before, but I don't remember exactly. Is that like a surf & turf?

I checked but Google doesn't know what a Kate and Sydney is. Does your restaurant have an online menu?

You got right John although some of you cheated a little. I grew up on steak and kidney pie and kippers. I only get the pie now if I can find a good restaraunt who serves it as I'm the only one in my house who will eat it.

IMO, kidney pie isn't as good as pancreas pie. Do they also serve spleen stew, fried thyroid, or creamed colon?

No but where I came from they eat pig intestines, hooves, brains, and just about anything except the oink.

I am told that dishes like chitlins and pickled pigs' feet came about because during slavery the plantation owners would take the choice parts of the pigs and the slaves learned how to cook what was left.

I'm sitting here hoping you mispelled and were referring to a condition where a moose's lips dry out!

They might be too chewy that way.

Mmmmm Steak & Kidney Pie!! One of the culinary delights to come from the British Isles. Haven't had one in years, but I still remember the taste of that rich gravy in it. The Greeks also do wonders with Lamb kidneys. Gotta go now before I drool over my keyboard.
