    Help find a web sites

I need the help of you parents with young children. We provide day care four 5 year old Grandaughter. Her parents have stoped her watching Hanna Montana, Zac and Codie and a few of those "tween" programs on Disney Channel and the web site. I need some 5 yrear old apropriate web sites for her. They and we feel Hanna and the others are not giving the correct message to the youngsters. Don't need a 5 year old acting like 17 year old. Any help would be appriciated. Looked a PBS and some of their stuff is a little young, she out grew Barney a while ago.

There's quite a few if you poke around "childrens websites", games, etc. You'll just have to sift through ones that are interesting.

I second PBSKids.org. There is also noggin.com. Look up DragonTales, but that might be on the pbskids site.

I don't have a clue about all the software anymore, but I wonder if someplace like Surfsafe or one of those nanny pc programs, might have recommendations.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Thanks everyone I will check them out. She really likes being out in the shop helping me make pens. She mixes the Alumilite and Pearl X and does the polishing on the lathe. I am going to let her use my other Netbook to go online and teach her how to use the computer and internet, with the proper safegaurds.

We don't have anything other than basic cable for the very reason we don't want Hannah, iCarly, etc, for our 6 year old daughter.

She's been playing at PBSkids online for over two years now. Disney has some good stuff, also. We keep the computer at the end of our family room so we can keep an eye on what she is doing. She has a computer in her room but it is not hooked up to internet and probably never will be. We mostly use it as a DVD player.

Noggin is a great station. Our 2 year old loves it. Should be fine for a 5 year old too.

The computer will be either in my den or in the sunroom where she keeps her stuff. It is visible from the kitchen or Familyroom. She had been watch Icarly and Hanna and Zac and Cody and she started acting and talking like them Bad enough when it is a teenager but a 5year old, don't think so. He parents are doing and excellent job of raising her. Now if grandpa would quit spoiling her all would be fine. She gets a lot of attention but she has been her since she was 6 weeks old, while mom and dad work.

We got our 6yo daughter a webkinz (plush toy you can find at most toystores). They come with a code that you can use at www.webkinz.com to register your "pet". You can take care of it, feed it, play with it, and you can play fairly simple games, too. She loves it and has a good time. You will have to buy the toy first, but there is no fee after then. I think they're about $7-8 each. You can register more than one.

Disney's Toontown is a good site. There is a free basic version and advanced subscription if you are willing to pay. Our kids paid for it with their allowance for several years until they outgrew it.
