I saw that and now I'm thinking I'm going to paint my old Giant bike a non-glossy black and make a nice wooden box to go on the back rack. I'm thinking of cedar to stand up to the elements.

It's been a pretty good year for cycling although no epic voyages. For the the first time ever, I commuted to work by bike through the winter (typically 3 or 4 days a week). I also ride with the club every Saturday throughout the year and Wednesdays for all but the winter months.

I've really enjoyed the club rides this year. The club is a good mix of guys and gals. I bought a Cervelo RS last September that I ride unless it's raining. That was my first road bike after a 12 year break (recovering from a cycling accident). Otherwise I ride my trusty 1988 Trek 950 mountain bike.

I'd like to do some riding outside the country this winter and was thinking of Tucson in November. I used to train there occasionally in the winter and I really found it a good cycling community. Or maybe California as my wife would prefer a Napa Valley kind of tour.
