Has anybody tried this? Specifically a Thinkpad? I am running RC1 at home and at work. The RTM version is now available for download so I am thinking about putting it on my laptop.

I had it on my ASUS Eee PC 1000HD Netbook and it worked fine. Had it on the "D" of the Partitioned Hard Drive, WinXP on the "C". My only problem was I couln't get drivers for it to work wirelessly. Hardwired to the network in worked fine. It might work better on a Laptop. It shared space with Ubuntu so I had a choice of 3 systems to boot into. I am going to try it on my desk top as soon has I get more memory. It wants 2GB of memory and I have 1GB share with the video adaptor. why it install on my Netbook with 1 GB of memory I have no Idea. I will probably get the full version after it goes through is first service pack and do a fresh install on my desk top and will wait for the drivers to come out for the Netbook.

You should be able to use Vista drivers for the wireless on your netbook. Even if Asus didn't sell Vista with that machine, it is likely that someone has sold that wireless chip with Vista. That is a popular machine, check around the 'net and you'll find someone with the Vista version of the drivers.Comment

I have been running Windows 7 RC1 on my desktop at work and my machine at home for the last few months. I use my desktop at work pretty much full time and I've had less problems with it than I have with my XP laptop. So I don't see any issues with going with the RTM version. You might want to try the XP drivers for your netbook if there aren't Vista drivers. I have the same model machine at home and work and there are no Vista drivers for the sound or video cards. I am running just fine with the XP drivers.David

I tried a couple of different Xp drives with 7 and it just didn't work. I think it was a conflict between 7 and ASUS Netbook Wirless adaptor. I got the wirless to work with Ubuntu by installing the XP driver downloaded from the ASUS site but finially gave up on 7 I will try the Vista drivers from ASUS
