    Name That Song

Every time I hear the song "Sweet Georgia Brown" I instantly think of the Harlem Globetrotters. What other songs are so connected to a team, event, or place?

One that is used by multiple teams, and for years I didn't know who did it, is Sirius, by the Allen Parsons project.

When RARELY heard on the radio, they start with that, and go into the Eye in the Sky.

I saw the Globetrotters back in the 70's with Meadowlark Lemon and Curly and all those classic guys. One of the highlights of my childhood.

Me too! In an old National Guard armory... and Satchel Paige was at courtside that night telling stories and signing autographs... It is a memory that I will always cherish

Not quite a sports team, but closely related: Dixie, Salvation is Created and Quilting Party will always remind me of The Marching Southerners of Jacksonville State, in J'ville, AL.

Then again, I marched with this band for 3 years. What an incredible group of musicians.

BESIDES SPORTS, what other songs spring to mind that you heard when famous events happened?
Any of the Kennedy's assisinations, the shuttles exploding, etc.

The trumpeting at the beginning of a horse race - Call To Post.

It's also an Army bugle call known as - First Call.
