Say it ain't so - Favre

Isn't being unable to make up your mind a sign of senile dementia?

Sadly it looks like #4 will be wearing purple. Not that Sage or T-Jack were my guys, and I'd love for the Vikes to do well, but I can help but feel that bringing this circius in was a ticket sales and marketing decision as much as a football decision...

I think Favre is a better QB than either of the other players. But I do think that the team wasn't as upfront with them as they should have been.

What I like, from what I've read so far, is Aaron Rogers' response: "Doesn't have anything to do with me and the Green Bay Packers". I think that shows class- just stay out of it. You know?

Farve may find that his ego is his biggest enemy I don't think he is going to enhance his stature or his Legacy unless the Vikes when the Super Bowl. It will be interesting and give Rome and the media something to talk about. Takes the spotlight off of Vick.

I hadn't even heard any rumors until today when I heard he signed. This was where he wanted to go when he was traded to the Jets.

Personally, i would rather see media attention on Farve than Vick.

What Pappy said. I married into family connections via proxy to the Packers and Favre. He originally wanted to go to the Vikings. He is obviously familiar with that area of the country, that fan base and he is a long-time friend of the Vikings' head coach. He also wanted to play again and would have stayed with the Packers had they given him more time. That said, obviously there was no way the Packers would trade his rights to a division rival.

I hope he is up to it. At the press conference, he was beginning to look a little like Larry the Cable Guy.

His age is getting up there, I sure hope nothing happens to the guy. It would be great (for him, not so much for me) if he could lead the Vikings to the SB. It would suck (for him, but be great for me) if the Pack won both games. It would be TRAGIC if the guy got hurt.

I think this statement is more a reflection of him trying to keep the Favre Monkey off his back. They rode him pretty hard last year when he left and Rogers doesn't want any of it to come back. However, since they are scheduled to go head to head twice the media won't let it be over before Nov. 1

As a 40 year Viking's fan, I'm kinda excited. They've had a pretty good team with a mediocre quarterback for the past couple of years. Tavaris Jackson has had more than ample opportunity to learn the system, mature, and lead the team...he just hasn't done it consistently, though he's pretty good at handing off to Adrian Peterson.

Similar to Emmitt Smith and Joe Montana, Favre just doesn't know when to quit (or at least stay quit). He's just selling out his pride and dignity, and our last memories of him will be him crawling away crippled and a mere shadow of himself on some irrelevant team. Next stop, lame TV commercials and the talk show tour. Just hope some young, hungry jock doesn't kill him on the field first.

On the marketing angle, apparently the Vikes sold almost 3000 more season tickets and well over 10,000 single game tickets yesterday...

At least we shouldn't have to flirt with TV blackouts down to the last minute like we did several times last year...

From the watch out what you wish for file: we never get blackouts in LA. However, they keep wanting to show us Raiders games.

The Raiders should suit their coach up and run him out there to break a few more jaws...
