Fein saw on CL - a bargain at $60?

FEIN sander and saw - $60

Looks like he only has one saw and a sander attachment - but works great, he says. I was wondering if I could pick up some attachments for cheap, or use attachments from other manufacturers?

At this price this might be a better buy than the HFF multi - right?

It's really just a detail sander. Although it has an accessory blade that can be used for sawing, I'm not totally sure it works quite the same as a MultiMaster (or the HF version, for that matter). I could be wrong, but I never have been...

Oh - I did not know their sander is different from their multimaster .

When I checked the list of their tools, all the various prices seemed to be for different kits or attachments for the same core sander/saw tool.

      Or I'm mistaken - and I thought I was Mr.Right...

It looks very different than my Fein MultiMaster, even the color. If it is an old Fein the new HF attachments and blades will work on it. As far as which is a better deal, it depends on the condition and amount of (ab)use it has had (but remember it's made in Germany) comparerd to what you think of HF equipment.

From their list of tools, it looks like they all support the sanding and cutting attachments. The price range from $209 to $399, makes $60 look cheap. But, OTOH, I just used the HF model and was pleased. It performed a procedure I couldn't have done that easily with any conventional tool. Oh, it's on sale now for $29.

BTW, that location is close to the National Guard Armory on St. Rd. 84, south of Lester's Diner.
