Are you a true home handyman?

Are you a true home handyman? Or are you just a fix it kind of guy? If you want to truly be an all around take care of everything home handyman then you need to add this to your skill set.

If you use power tools you may want to add it even if you don't aspire to be the perfect home handyman.

    What real men should know!

Bill, over here on the left coast where everyone is just a little bit younger than you folks on the right.

Real manly handymen can use their left hand to sticth up their severed right thumb. Except for Kirby. He's left handed, so he'd have to do it with his right hand to qualify.

BTW - Bill, your sigs always crack me up!

Yikes -- I think I'd rather prevent the wounds rather than learn to stitch them up myself...

With Florence Nightingale at your side you have nothing to worry about! Unless, of course, she makes you cook your own eggs. It's breakfast time in OZ about now isn't it?

I could have used that info a few weeks ago. I took my mechanics gloves off to do something and forgot to put them back on while ripping out ceramic tile. Managed to cut my finger to the bone. The cut edge of a ceramic tile leaves one scary clean cut too. Fixed a 1" long, bone deep, cut using some mad skill with 2 bandaids.. not even a noticable scar left. Just have to remember to get everything matched back up properly

I never was much into hand tools. I use a stapler.

A former co-worker of mine, and her spouse, own a pretty large sailboat... and embarked on a 2-person round-the-world tour/trip. Prior to leaving, both took some classes on First Aid and a few steps beyond First Aid... including stapling major wounds. Each can staple themselves or the other person... I shudder to think about it.

I wonder how they did? That trip started many years ago now...

Exactly. If it's not serious enough to go to the ER, supe glue works wonders.
