    Need Keyboard Info

Is it possible to use the keyboard (laptop or desktop) as a calculator somehow?

Not sure if you mean you want to use an old keyboard to build a calculator or just looking for an ap on your PC.

If the latter, just look in the accessories program area and you will find a basic calculator program that works with the main or ten key pad.

Here's a link to a freeware program that is even better.

I was looking for an online calculator. Thanks for the heads up. I never noticed it before.

My keyboard (MS wireless) has a calculator button at top right. Press it, and a pop-up window appears which runs of the numeric keypad.

I once owned an offbrand keyboard that had a calculator function built in. You just pushed a button and the 10 key pad became a calculator and there was a spot for a readout above the keys. When not used as a calculator the readout was a clock. I wonder what happened to that keyboard?

I thought that I had seen a kb like that ~ 8 years ago, when I did a lot more work with computer hardware. I never used one, so I wasn't sure if it actually did calculator functions. I have a coworker that had a keypad that would perform calculator functions, or be a keypad for his laptop - depending on which way it was switched, it didn't do either function very well.

I would guess that 8 to 10 years ago was about right. I really don't know what happened to mine. It was pretty handy. I probably changed computers and let it go with the old one.

Not everyone knows that you can type math expressions right into google. Try the following Googles:

                    2+2
                    2+3(5*5)
                    pi * 5^2
                    1.2 feet in inches
                    1.2 feet in millimeters
                    360 gallons in cubic meters

                    Cool, huh?
