My Head Ain't Up My .....

This was confirmed this morning during a Colonoscopy.

Good news is the only thing they found were a couple of small internal hemorroids, so I am good to go for 10 years.

I don't remember the drug used to put me under but it was great. I was out before the initial dose was in the IV. The anesthetist said it only lasts about 8minutes and he monitored me to add more as needed to keep me under for the entire test. Came out of it with my head clear as a bell (or as close as is normal for me).

Couldn't resist a bit of fun with the cute little nurse that assisted the doctor. As soon as I was rolled into the room, I asked if she was going to be there when I woke up. When she said "Yes", I told her I couldn't think of anything better to see first than her eyes. She sneezed a few time and apologized, saying it was alergies. Told her not to worry about it, where they were going to be working wasn't exactly a sterile field.

After I was in position on my side, she told me she was going to put a towel under me. I asked her to come to the other side of the gurney, in front of me, first. She did and when I asked her to turn around one time she asked why. I told with the view she was fixin' to get of my backside, I figured it was only fair if I got to see her's, too. She grinned, did a slow 360 turn, and then went back behind me. The anesthetist was laughing so hard I thought he was going to choke.

Hey, you've gotta get your kicks where you can, right?

    Glad everything "looks" good.

I had one the first of the month. The night before drinking that gallon of crap was bad. Like you they said I didn't suffer from crainial rectal inversion and I was clean as can be. I guess I put quite a show aftwards expelling excess air. Don't remember a thing about it thankfully.

My brother gets these regularly as part of managing his Crohn's disease. I was a little anxious the first time and he gave me a raft about it.

Unfortunately, there were no cute nurses around when I had mine. However I wient with LOML yesterday to look at fabrics for re-covering a sofa. The young woman who works there was a welcome diversion.

Uhh, Pappy, did you mean to have that particular icon on this thread? It kinda seems like you are angry they didn't find your head up there.

After my last "C", I woke up in recovery and haden't tooted yet. So there I was wide awake with a nurse just standing there waiting for it to happen.

I had my first at the beginning of this year. After two serious attacks of diverticulitus, the doctor wanted to have a better look at my colon. The prep was not enjoyable but I really have no recollection of the procedure. The wheeled me in to the O.R. , gave me a "little something to relax", me and the next thing I knew, the nurse was shaking me in recovery. I get to do it again in five years.

I'm glad to hear that all was well with you Pappy.

Pappy, I am glad yours went so well. I am going to have one August 24th, and I am nervous about the day before. My wife had one earlier this year, so I know what it is about. The trouble is, I am a type 2 diabetic. I am worried about keeping my blood sugar from crashing on a clear liquid diet. Those internal hemroids is the reason I agreed to do it. I thought FIRE IN THE HOLE!! was a mining thing.

It was probably the same one that Michael Jackson took, only you had a much better doctor.

                          Hey pappy,

                          Just couldn't resist.

Q: Why don't lawyers get hemorroids?

                          A: Because they're such PERFECT A-holes!

BTW, but the prep wasn't half as much fun, now be honest.

Glad to hear the good news, Pappy. The drug they used was probably Propofol, which my nurse called "milk of amnesia." Quite a difference between that one and the first, when they gave me Versed and Demerol. That was lots more fun, but it took a full day to clear my head. I'm told I asked the doc for a "to-go" order of Versed.

The nurses get so much you-know-what that they appreciate it when you have a good attitude. When mine asked me if I'd had anything to eat, I told her, "No, but it hasn't affected my appetite." Then, just before I went under, I told them all that after the lovely cocktail the day before, I was most certainly NOT "full of it."

Ten years seems far too soon to me…

Check with you Dr for special instructions. My instruction sheet from Kaiser had all kinds of instruction for Diabetics. You should be ok. Other than the night before I found this easier the simpler one the give, where they only go part way and you are awake. LOML said I put on quite a concert after, but thak God I don't remember. Mine was for the same reason as your's, blood in stool caused by Hemroids. After talke to the Doctor, she advised me to get it done and then we will know for sure. This one reason I fear the new Health Plan that is coming and me being on Medicare. I won't beable to have the tests that are available to me under my current health plan.
