Having seen this before, I was left w/ a question that still remains: What do they do to the high voltage lines once delivered to them? He says they are maintaining them, but they only show him crawling along the lines. Is there something he does, something he replaces on these lines?

      working on a power line

There was a article in a helicopter magazine a few years ago, about this work. In the story, the big insulators have a calender service life and have to be replaced periodically. The work is done while sitting on the helicopter and grounded to the power line by a big cable.
One time the Engine quit while working and he had just a few seconds to remove the ground and sit tight. The pilot was lucky, good and on the ball. In the situation, there was a bit of smooth ground below, so he was able to autorotate straight down.
