Yes, it is kinda neat.
Couple things to consider, however... You must leave your hose out and pressurized (with little or no flow) in the sunlight. This can cause a cheaper or older hose to burst or pull free of its fittings in hot locales.
Local ordinances in some areas prohibit operation of a sprinkler regardless of purpose outside specified time windows or days. The "water cops" in my area, for instance, have actually ticketed people for washing their cars on the wrong day.
Doesn't make you public enemy #1, but still something to think about... -
Not only the "water cops" but any of the civil servants (including the trash guys), act as undercover snitches. I'll bet they get rewards for turning folks in. We're on a two day a week allowance, and they better be the right days.
With my luck, the two days I can wash the vehicles, it rains.

Pretty funny pics.
I've got a neighbor that has one those setup in a section of his lawn. We have a lot of deer in the area and I had a feeling that it was to keep the deer out of there.
Every time I walk or drive by it sets it off. Seems like a heck of a good idea.Comment
