If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.

Missle Command was the game of choice in my house. That, of course, was just the gateway drug to Yar's Revenge.

Asteroids? Oh yeah, and quite a few others.

I can still remember the Christmas when we got our Atari 2600. I was pretty young (maybe 7 or 8?) and there was just the one present under the tree for all three of us (my two older brothers & me). When we opened it, we were real excited (understatement). We stayed up past midnight playing "War". We eventually had quite a few games. Now, you can buy the classic Atari controller with about 25 of the old games built into it. You just plug it in to the TV.

Looking back on it, I'm more surprised now than I was then that my folks bought us an Atari. We didn't have money for luxuries, so, I have a much greater appreciation today than I did then.

Got my Atari while I was in my late 20's.

We use to get really wasted and play Space Invaders all night, and sometimes into the day, if we had'nt passed out.

That's *exactly* what he's playing in that picture.

Our 2600 was a gateway drug to the Atari 800, which of course led to all the IBM clones (with a few others sprinkled in between) and finally a career in computer science.
