His second hair cut already...

I've been Mr. Mom since Dec. Everyone keeps saying it's been fantastic for both my 5 year old daughter and my son. Everyone claims they've really grown and benefited from it, but I'm there every day.

Alex will be 1 year old on Monday so I took him for his one year hair cut today. This is actually his second, he was born with a full head of hair and needed one about three months ago. Stacey (LOML) wanted a spikey cut. As he sat perfectly sit with occasional laughs as the clippers tickled him my heart sank as I watched him go from a baby right before my eyes... He's already growing up. I took him straight to the church event that my wife was at and was able to walk him right up to her before she realized it was him.

He looks like a little man, I'm not ready for that.

Please forgive the quality, I only had my daughters toy camera around at the time.

He's a cute kid. I know the feeling. We moved my 2 yr old out of the crib into a twin bed a few weeks ago. She woke up during the night shortly after that. I went in and quieted her down, then started putting her in the crib before I realized what I was doing. Now if we could only get her potty trained. That is one thing I -won't- miss.

Yeah I tried to use a photo where he was smiling but I wasn't using a good camera. It's a camera that we gave to my daughter as a responsibility test, which she is kind of passing.

I remember my daughter leaving her crib, her crib was convertible into a daybed so we transition her into the real one over time. It's funny how quickly things move by though. Alex was still in a carrier 3 months ago, now he's bulked out and cumbersome to carry. Actually when he got up yesterday, he had changed overnight, it looked like he stretched out, he's been bulking out for a growth spurt for a while now.

I see defensive lineman in his future, but my wife has plans of him replacing Jeter. If he gets the same grace his sister has, he'll do better on the line.

What a handsome boy -- and, of course, you just can't beat that name!! That's a pretty decent image for a toy camera. Our toy camera isn't that good at all.

My youngest son is nearing a year and half. He's only had one haircut. Both of our boys took a long time to develop a full head of hair (Tyler still hasn't).

Alex, I thought about saying he was named for you... No offense but it's not true. Though two forums that I frequent have very active members (Alex Franke and Alexander Patrakov). That is were it got into my head, so I guess on some level you did influence his naming.

As for the toy camera, we picked up one of the fisher price camera a while back and I returned it because for the price it was a POS and burned through batteries like mad. So I finally went a couple of weeks ago and bought her a cheap real camera. It has better specs on the box than my Canon (9.5MP, face/blink/smile detection) but it doesn't take as good of a picture. One reason is that it's only using internal memory so I turned the quality down to maximize to photo's she can take.
