    It's miller time!

How do y'all deal with beer (or your favorite alcoholic beverage) and shop time? Sometimes I hate having to choose.

I won't operate a power tool or do any cutting while drinking anymore. I've got a severely bent up jigsaw blade on my shop door reminding me that sharp edges, especially powered, aren't a good idea. I never was stupid enough to operate a TS or router.

I'll usually crack open a few at the end of the day while I'm waiting for the glue to dry and putting up for the night. I might just have to spend the day straightening up the shop on occasion.

For me, beer comes after shop time (or during clean-ups). It's a rule I never break.

I don't drink beer per se. I betcha not a six pack in a year. Drank it in the Army though. Beer will give ya a pot belly. Once that gets a good start, it affects your counterbalance. This thread tells all.

I sometimes drink a beer in the evening after I am done for the night. Never if I am going to be around woodworking tools or am going to get on my bike.

I won't run my tools past nine at night because I live very close to neighbours with young children. Having a beer or even some scotch is reservered for when I shut down. It makes it all the more worth it.

One night, while just puttering, I cracked open a brown pop. My daughter saw me and proceeded to tell me off for drinking around power tools. I had to explain that I was only cleaning.

If I ever cleaned my shop I would have a beer while cleaning. Never while operating power tools.

              Amen. Never while working.

                After....

                Latest favorites:
1 War of 1812 Ale (light amber color, full flavor, nicely balanced)
2 Negra Modello (darker color, but tastes lighter...more like a good amber)
3 Sam Adam's Boston Ale (light amber color, full flavor)
4 Turbo Dog (darker color, hardy nutbrown style)
5 Upper Canada Dark Ale (darker color, light flavor for a dark beer)
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

I'm reminded of my first open-water dive. The dive master said, "Absolutely, drink beer. Have fun. Just know that as soon as you pop the top, you've told me you're done diving for today."

The only machine I run while drinking is the television set.

Agree with all of you. Only time for a brew in the shop is if my ww buddy shows up then I shut down work down for the day. Then we pop a couple while we put the world right.
