My European Trip - May, 2009

At long last, I've managed to find enough time to write an account of our wander around Europe.

If you're interested, you can find it here.

As ever, if you like any of the photographs, help yourself. If you would like the original, high-resolution image as a desktop image, then please right click on the picture(s) you'd like and PM me the reference(s) - e.g. "europe01.jpg" - and I'll ping 'em across the ether.

That was an exceptional collection of pictures. Your choices and the accompanying text was great. The photos are absolutely beautiful. I'm really taken back by the architecture and layout. Again, your commentary was very interesting. Seems like a trip like that would take months. And to top off a great trip like that, the mileage was impressive too.

2127 miles? I thought you measured distances in kilometers?

Beautiful pictures. I would love to drive through some of those tunnels. I've always loved tunnels.

Wow, Ray, what a great trip! I particularly liked the pic of Lake Brienz. I'd never heard of that place, but is surely very beautiful.

I have loads of pictures of Heidelberg, but not too many with the sun shining. You got lucky!

And you got all the way down to Como. A real Grand Tour.

        Nice pics, as always.

Great photos and a great story to go with them. Even though I've spent a lot of time on Europe on vacation and business, there's still a lot left to see (and so little time left).

Wow. I am so envious. I was last in Germany in 1998 and miss it very much.

What a beautiful set of photos, Ray! Thanks very much for sharing the trip with us. The shadow detail in those shots taken in bright sunlight was very impressive.

Great pictures capturing a spectacular trip.

I still want to make the trip to Switzerland
