A few months ago I booked the flights for our Minnesota trip. I get a free companion ticket every year. the problem is it gets booked through a special promotions dept so if more than 2 people are traveling you have to do 2 separate bookings. So I did, me and one daughter on one and my wife and other daughter on the other. About 6 weeks ago I got an email saying my wife's itinerary had changed, but no email for mine. I was suspcious so called Delta and my itinerary was cancelled.
I had had to talk to three different depts to find this out and get it rebooked.
Today I got an email that my wife's itinerary had changed again, but no email for mine. It was the flight from ATL to RDU on our way home - they moved her to a later one. I called again, they had moved mine also, but to an earlier one. I told them they needed to rebook my wife to the earlier one, the rep said he would but that I would pay a change fee.
I explained (as politely as I felt like) that I was not paying the fee. He insisted. I told him I would talke to his boss, or bosse's boss or even drive to the airport if I had to but was not paying the fee. He thought about it and rebooked for no fee.
