    Two Harbor Freight Web Sites?

On this thread a Harbor Freight Router Fence was posted last fall. I looked for that item on HF back in the Spring as I wanted to buy one or at least order one - for the time I was back in the States.

The item came up as having been discontinued. In an update to the post Pelligrini said that he had purchased one and produced the link.

Then I noticed that I was going to "harborfreight.com" while Pelligrini had a link that was harborfreightusa.com.

Both sites are viable but the HFUSA site does have the Router Fence under the number of 97385 while the HF.com does not list it.

A big difference. Thought I would post this and let others know the difference. Any comments and knowledge of the differences would be appreciated.

    The two sites:

HFUSA supports the retail locations, and isn't a storefront. HF is their online store. That's the main difference.

The "harborfreightusa" site is the site operated by the retail arm of the business (the stores), while the "harborfreight" site is the online marketing division, where you can order from the company's online inventory. You may find different item listings on the two sites, as some HF items are sold only in stores, while others are sold only online. For those items available from both the online seller and in the retail stores, there may be different prices. The stores will usually honor any prices currently shown on the online site, but it usually does not work the other way, as the online site claims to be a separate entity, or at least a separate set of books...

      Confusing, sometimes...

The HFusa site does not support online sales. You can add items to a shopping list. I believe it lists items that are carried in the B&M stores, and like the site says "All items may or may not be available at all stores"

Thanks fellows. This is good to know and now that you mentioned it, I vaguely I remember it being discussed somewhere before.

Thanks for the links. I have been linking to the 'USA' site and wondered why I couldn't get prices on items. I will have to modify my favs files to include both.

Thanks for pointing this out, Hank. I never knew there were two different URLs.
