I had a bit of free time so decided to go to Lowes this afternoon. Figured it would save a trip when we got home this weekend. I was after ring shanks for my framing nailer - clipped head nails. I know they sell them back home but the Lowes here didn't carry them. I know I have an older nailer but was wondering if there isn't a demand here because code here doesn't allow them? I know not all codes do. I have no idea about this locality but just wondered if the demand is not there because code says no.
Selling To Code?

While it may not be selling to code, I have noticed in one Home Depot, that it stocks items that are more prevalent to that area. They carry a larger selection of items to deal with residential aluminum wiring due to the highnumber of homes in that area that were so wired.
But selling to code makes alot of sense.

Yeah, I think it is probably code. A few years ago I bought my first framing nailer from Amazon (clipped head) and when I went to Lowes/HD neither of them carried clipped head nails. An email to the bldg dept confirmed what I feared - that my area requires round head nails.Comment
