Pitchers vs. position players

Carlos Zambrano, starting pitcher for the Cubs, received a 6 day suspension for his actions on the field and in the dugout. That means he would likely miss 1 start. If a position player received the same suspension, he would probably miss 6 starts, although not necessarily. Should starting pitchers receive suspensions that would result in scheduled missed starts, or would that be wrong?

Hard to do that in practice though. Your closer and setup man might pitch almost every day, or only once or twice per week depending on game situations.

I think they do consider it though when handing out the suspensions. It seems like position players are much more likely to have a one-two game suspension rather than 5-6.
